DISTRICT HISTORY by PDG Joe Hahn

In re-creating the job of District Historian, most who know me know I am not one to "reinvent the wheel."  I’ll get started by asking everyone and anyone who has any historical information on their respective clubs, other clubs, and/or the district, to let me know what you have.  Please do not assume that I have anything!!  Even my list of PDGs has a couple holes in it.

Club Presidents and Secretaries – what do you have in your files?  It’s not that I want to have your files – just some of the information contained therein.  Take a look and send me:

1.     Whatever you know about your club’s charter night: Who was there?

Who presented the charter?  Special guests?

        Who were charter members?

2.     What club sponsored your organization and charter?

3.      A list of your club presidents throughout your club’s history.

4.     A list of your club secretaries through your history.

5.     Did your club produce any District Governors? Rotary Directors?

6.     Who were club’s “sparkplugs” over the years?  Why and how?

A limited number of photographs would be welcomed, as long as they contain the dates taken and identification of those pictured.

You can reach me at JosephHahn@aol.com , by phone at 207-443-2961, or by snail mail at 937 High Street, Bath, ME 04530.
