Serenely in his home that he so cherished, dad departed on his longest voyage. All went so fast, just as fast as lightning.

Tuesday, November 2012, at the age of 88 and 3 months, Mister Marcel Morissette died. He was past Governor of Rotary International, honorary member of the Rotary Club of Saint-Georges, President of the foundation Victor Cloutier and Madame Cyprienne Morin’s spouse.  

He lived in Saint-Georges, Québec.

He leaves behind a mourning wife who was so loved and adored, Cyprienne Morin with whom he spent 65 years of a happy life and his children that he adored, Lyse(Louis Pratte), Claude(Suzanne Roy), Marie(Claude Lapierre) and Claire(Serge Bélanger), his grandchildren that he cherished so, Sophie and Jerôme Pratte, Nancy Morissette(Tim Jones), Kim Morissette(Erik Graves), Isabelle, François and Marie-Christine Lapierre, Geneviève Bélanger(Jean-Philippe Marchand) and Véronique Bélanger, his great-grandchildren, Jordan and Stéphanie.

He was the brother of the late Henri(Thérèse Garant), the late Léo(the late Gertrude Leblanc), the late Guy(the late Andrée Morissette), Marthe(Marquis Jacques, Roland(the late Pauline Morissette, Mariette Larochelle), Madeleine(Armand Maheux), Aline(the late Jean-Marc Gagnon, ViateurDionne) and Diane Morissette, and the brother-in-law of Marcelle(the late :Louis Moisan), Monique(the late Jean Gosselin), the late Guy(Francine Duval), Jeanne Paquet(the late Gérard Breton), and Gaby Rancourt(Jean-Marie Demers).

He leaves equally in mourning several nephews and nieces, numerous friends, among whom André Morissette and Jacques Boissonneault, members of the Rotary Club of Saint-Georges as well as the members of the Royal Canadian Legion, affiliate 249 of the Beauce region.

The funeral was held on Monday, November 26 at 2:00 p.m. at the church of the Assumption and from there to the crematorium of the Commemorative Park Chaudière-Appalaches. Later on the ashes will be deposed at the columbarium of the Park commemorating Chaudière-Appalaches under the direction of “La maison Roy & Giguère, Inc. 13445, 10th Avenue, St-Georges.
