Durham, NH - William Reader Skinner of Ft. Myers, Fla. passed November 29, 2012.  William Reader Skinner, born July 2, 1930 to Mr. Robert & Maxine Skinner.
 
Survived by his wife of 58 years, Lucy Lover Skinner, sons, William R. Skinner, Jr. of Winthrop, Mass., Samuel N. Skinner and wife Diane of Canton, Conn.; daughter, Leyman Love Murphy and husband, Nick of Melrose, Mass.; granddaughters, Tiffany Skinner, Erin Skinner, Greer Skinner, Piper Skinner, Maeve Murphy; grandson, Cian Murphy; great-grandson, Levi Cotton and adopted son, Naoyuki Tagaki of Funabashi, Japan.
 
Also, survived by a sister-in-law, Mrs. Naomi Love Jefferson of Greenville, Del.; and brother-in-law, Charles M. Love III and his wife, Sally of Charleston, W. VA.; predeceased by his brother Robert G. Skinner and his wife, Dr. Mary Skinner.
 
Bill was born and raised in Charleston W. Va. He received his Bachelor's Degree in Business from West Virginia University in 1954 and his Masters in Occupational Education Degree from the University of New Hampshire in 1976. He served two years in the army as an ROTC officer at FT. Benning, Ga. & FT. Knox, KY.  He worked for Kaiser Aluminum and Chemical Corporation in Erie, Pa. for seven years, and then worked for Moore Business Forms Inc. for 12 years, Vermont, New York, West Virginia, Illinois, and New Hampshire. He was self-employed for 17 years, doing residential painting and wallpapering.
 
Bill was involved in many community activities most of his life in such roles as President of the PTA, a Sunday School teacher, Church Board member, United Way Chairman, School Board member, member of Conservation Commission of Durham, N.H. and Durham Recycling Committee Chairman. Bill was an active Rotarian for 30years serving as District Governor of District 7780 in 1998-99.
 
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 19, 2013, at the Village Chapel, Shell Point, Ft. Myers, Fla.  In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Sanibel, Fla. UCC Congregational Church or Rotary International.
