RI Service Above Self Award
Criteria
The nominee must have demonstrated exemplary humanitarian service, in any form
and at any level, with an emphasis on personal volunteer efforts and active
involvement in helping others through Rotary. Service rendered by the nominee
through Rotary must have been on a continuing basis. The award will not be given
solely in recognition of one’s performance in an elected or appointed Rotary assignment.
Personal financial contributions to The Rotary Foundation or any individual project are
not relevant considerations for this award.
Eligibility
It is not possible to nominate oneself for the award. In addition, nominees must not be
the spouse, lineal descendant (child or grandchild), a spouse of a lineal descendant or an
ancestor (parent or grandparent) of the nominator. An individual may only receive the
award once. Any active Rotarian in good standing may be nominated, except the following:
District Governor, RI Director, Foundation Trustee, District Governor-elect, RI Director-elect,
Incoming Foundation Trustee, Immediate Past District Governor, Past RI Director,
Past Foundation Trustee, RI President, RI President-elect or Past RI President
Nominee
Only one individual may be nominated per form.
Nominator must be one of the following:
Current District Governor, Current RI Director, Immediate Past District Governor or Past RI Director
Nominations must be received at RI World Headquarters by the close of business 1 September. Nominations received after the deadline will be ineligible.
