Youth or New Generations Service acknowledges the positive influence of youth and young adults who are involved in leadership development activities, community and international service, and exchange programs that enrich and foster world peace and cultural understanding. There are many programs and projects currently supported by clubs in our district that fall under the New Generations umbrella. Examples include many of our literacy projects like the dictionary project and the Four Way Test speaking contest, mentoring, Career Day at your middle and high schools, and the variety of scholarships offered to students.
New Generations also includes the Rotary-sponsored programs of RYLA, a youth leadership program for high school students that takes place in an adventure camp setting each June, Interact, our high school-based service organization, and Youth Exchange, in which we send and receive high school-aged students to spend up to 10 months in another country. Rotary also sponsors Rotaract, a service organization for young adults in either a college or community setting. We have two Rotaract clubs in the District.
Rotary protects its youth and other vulnerable persons via a protection policy, which all Rotarians who work with these people agree to adhere to.
