Peter joined Rotary in 1992 and has served as 1994-95 President of the Casco Bay Sunrise Rotary Club, founded and served as Charter President of the Yarmouth Rotary Club in 1996-1997 and led the District Group Study Exchange Team to Sweden/Poland in 1997.  Both Peter and his wife, Carolyn, are Paul Harris Fellows and Foundation Benefactors.

 

He currently serves on the Board of Opportunity Farm for Boys, a home for 20 youth ages 13-18, has served as Trustee Chair for his church, and is an active singer with both the local Barbershop Chorus and the Choral Arts Society Masterworks Chorus.

 

Peter holds the Rotary Classification “Investments.”  He is Vice President-Investments and Portfolio Manager with Paine Webber in the Portland, Maine office.  He began working with individual investors in 1986, moving to Maine from Wyoming.  After completing college in 1973, he was commissioned in the U.S. Air Force, rising to the rank of Captain as an ICBM crew commander and launch officer.  He also served as a Headquarters Squadron Commander and General’s Aide.  Prior to moving to Maine, he worked for the State of Wyoming as a regulator overseeing the securities industry and for a regional brokerage firm specializing in raising capital for municipal projects.

Peter grew up in Darien, Connecticut, and Carolyn in Warren, Pennsylvania.  They met at Grove City College and were married in 1973.  Carolyn is an elementary school principal with approximately 400 students grades K-5.  She also serves on the Board of the Grove City College Alumni Association.  Their son, Andrew, also graduated from Grove City College in 1999 and is now living in Charlotte, North Carolina.

 

Peter enjoys golf, singing, gardening and books, especially historical.
