So it begins, my three year journey to District Governor has arrived! I have already learned so much in the past two years as to how you all do to make our clubs, communities and our world a better place.

We often do not think about the impact we have on individuals or our communities, but I think about it often as I think about all of the positive experiences Rotary creates for people.  Adverse Childhood Experiences, (ACE’s) are negative experiences in a child’s life that can have a serious impact on their health and mental wellness into and through adulthood.  When we, as Rotarians come together to create positive experiences in peoples live and communities, we offset ACE’s.  We never really know how much of an impact we have, but I can guarantee it has saved lives and has changed people’s lives for the better.

As I visit clubs around our District, I will be doing so with a special interest in gathering all of the positive experiences we have and continue to bring to our communities and individuals.  If we had the opportunity to take all of this information and put it into a document it would be astonishing.   We need to celebrate and share what we do as so others want to be part of a great organization such as Rotary!

Here is to an amazing year ahead!  It is going to be fun and I look forward to learning/sharing the important work you all do as so we realize our new theme, “The Magic of Rotary” is very much alive and well in our District!
