TRAVIS MILLS . . . AS TOUGH AS THEY COME!

Travis came to speak to the Sanford Springvale Rotary Club today. He started his speech with 1. I'm awesome, 2. I'm humble. He proceeded to tell us his life story… so far. His story included his birth, joining the Army, meeting his wife and having a baby girl, right up to dropping his pack on an IED on his third tour in Afghanistan, and how he lives as a quadriplegic amputee. He had us eating out of his hand. (Ha-ha, his joke). He likes to "disarm" his audience with humor. He had the 60+ people gathered in stitches. Local Sanford resident Adrian Mauris was there with Travis the day he lost his arms and legs in Afghanistan, and he was also with us today!!

Past District Governor Elias Thomas III presented SSG Travis Mills with a Paul Harris Fellow, a high honor, including a thousand dollar donation to the Rotary Foundation in his name.

State Reps Karen Gerrish and Matt Harrington were able to introduce a Joint SENTIMENT from the House and Senate of the State of Maine, to honored Travis and presented it to him today at the Sanford Springvale Rotary Club.
Thank you to all the men and women who serve every day to keep this county safe and free.
