District Conference 2013 – “Multiply the Magic!”
Join Rotarians and their families from across the District as we celebrate the Magic we’ve accomplished this Rotary year and look forward to the next.  It all happens Friday and Saturday, May 17-18, at the 2013 District Conference at Spruce Point Inn in Boothbay Harbor.
We have a great lineup of keynoters:

  • Anne Matthews, Rotary International Director, past Rotary Foundation Trustee, and passionate speaker on all things Rotary.
  • Rochelle Arms, Rotary World Peace Fellow and restorative justice coordinator with the New York Peace Institute.
  • Rachel Williams, Service Above Self honoree who is committed to establish schools and provide educational opportunities for girls in Pakistan.
  • Deb Walters, Past District Governor from Unity, Maine, who is improving the lives of a community of children and their families who live on the city dump in Guatemala.
  • Tony Gilmore, District Governor from Concord, NH, who is bringing clean water to communities in Haiti.
  • Our own PDG Ann Lee Hussey, Service Above Self honoree and much-sought-after speaker throughout the Rotary world, on the final mile to achieve polio eradication.
Our District clubs and local Rotarians are central to the Conference agenda.  Come hear about the Magic of Rotary in our area:
  • Great local and international projects -- and how you can get involved.
  • Clubs that are growing – and how they are doing it!
  • Our youth programs – and the young people whose lives we are shaping.
  • The New Rotary Foundation – and how it empowers our humanitarian magic.

Boothbay Harbor was named as one of Yachting Magazine's '50 Best Towns' for 2012 and is truly a boater’s paradise. With the largest boating harbor north of Boston, the harbor is home to working lobster boats, historic windjammers, dinghies, dories, and luxury yachts.  Conveniently located a scenic hour from Portland, Boothbay Harbor was voted #2 of the top ten prettiest villages in Maine for 2012 by the readers of DownEast Magazine.  The region offers the perfect mix of history, natural beauty, rustic charm and friendly local flavor to appeal to any Rotarian’s style.

Bring your fellow Rotarians, family and guests to celebrate the magic our District’s Clubs have been creating all over the world!   Click here for our tentative Agenda.
