Deferred one more Week!

Due to shipping problems worldwide, the loading of our 12th shipping container has been postponed again until Saturday September 24, starting at 9AM, 128 Saco Ave, Old Orchard Beach.  Click Read More below for comments sent to us by David Talbot, Founder of Crutches 4 Africa, regarding the current situation.

Feel free to bring a friend and stay for as long as you would like. Because of logistics with this new storage site, we will need additional help. Here's a chance to introduce a friend or colleague to Rotary through this long-standing District international service project led by RC Saco Bay Sunset!!

POSTPONING A CONTAINER LOAD

Shipping has changed dramatically.  Time was we would simply have our shipping broker set up a shipment and everything happened on schedule.  Now, every aspect of shipping can and does shift.  These are examples why our load schedules change:
  • No delivery chassis, truck or container available the day scheduled for delivery/loading.
  • No available rail service to deliver container to port.
  • The ship that has been booked is delayed or is caught in the backlog of cargo unloading in any port on its route.
Any or all of these situations create a delay to when we are able to load.  Our broker is informed that our “confirmed” shipment is delayed for any of the above reasons.  THIS MAY OCCUR ON VERY SHORT NOTICE! Then we must notify our volunteers that we must POSTPONE our load date!

Please be patient.  KEEP IN MIND THAT THESE DELAYS DOES NOT REDUCE THE NEED OF MOBILITY EQUIPMENT NEEDED IN DEVELPOPING NATIONS!

Thank you for your continued support!
