The Committee met on November 11th. Two important items addressed were:
India Outreach:
The 2025-26 Outreach Team is going to the Bangalore, India region The team consists of
Rick Whelchel, Team Leader, Bridgton-Lake Region RC
Sandra Basgal, Bath RC
Jeffrey Slaton, Saco Bay RC
Marion Cheney, Dover RC
Elizabeth Fischer, Dover RC
The dates for travel are the last two weeks of February. The team expects to be home hosted for 3-4 days and stay in hotels the rest of the time. DISC Chair Bill DiBiasio indicated that the team met for the first time in person recently. He believes they will be great representatives of Rotary, the District and the United States.
International Café:
The next Café is scheduled for Saturday, December 13th from 9:30-11:00AM. Invited speakers include the UNE Rotaract team that is going to Poland, the Rotary Action Group (RAG) on Anti-slavery, an Ethiopia project. There could be room for one more. DG Emma Bodwell, longtime DISC Chair and International Café host indicated she will not be able to attend the next café. PDG Marion Cheney agreed to serve as the host. Look for an email with the final agenda and Zoom link for the next Café a few days ahead of time.
