District 7780 District Grant Outcomes

The ARKA Project was one of the projects that the Poland Outreach Team visited during its visit to Poland. For three years, the Rotary Club of Saco Bay Sunset has collaborated with Rotary Club Lublin Centrum through the phases of the ARKA Project.

The University of New England Rotaract students wanted to support the ARKA Project because of its focus on supporting adolescents who experience trauma, addiction, and mental illness. With support from their advisor, Dr. Carol Marcotte of the Rotary Club of Saco Bay Sunset, the UNE Rotaract students were awarded a Rotary District 7780 grant for year 2025-2026. Rotary Clubs Dover, Freeport, and Saco Bay Sunset also donated funds, sending a total of more than $7,000 to the ARKA Project in Wojciechów, Poland.

Thinking of stewardship, Carol Marcotte wanted to visit the project and see firsthand how the Rotary investment was being used. During the visit, Carol was able to see the completed spaces and learn how they are being used for training sessions, presentations, and programs supporting young people. The visit provided an opportunity to see the tangible results of Rotary collaboration and the impact of the district grant.
