District 7780’s Nominating Committee has shared their selection results for the positions of District Governor 2023 - 2024 and District Finance Committee.
 
Marion Cheney (left) from the Dover NH Rotary Club, has been selected to serve as our District Governor for 2023 – 2024.  In addition, Susan Gajewski has been selected to serve a 3-term on our District Finance Committee, from 2021 - 2023. Susan is a proud member of the Rotary Club of Biddeford-Saco
 
Marion's Rotary experience is extensive, including Club President, Club Secretary, and Chair of the Membership and Literacy Committees.  At the District Level, Marion was an AG for 3 years, District Conferences Chair (twice!), Grants Committee and Membership Committee.  Marion has been a Rotary Representative on several community-based initiatives, including a recently appointed role on the Equity Vision Keeper's Task Force for the city of Dover.
 
Professionally, Marion is a well-respected and recognized Realtor, receiving multiple professional awards and certificates.  She and her husband are currently the Brokers/Managers for the Exeter, NH RE/MAX on The Move Sales Team.
 
As DG, Marion expects to lead by example, "it's not about me.... it's about we".  Some of her goals include having a broader reach with younger members who are qualified to fill leadership positions, "we need to have value-added propositions that will help incentivize the under age 35 potential Rotarians".
 
Susan’s roles at the Club Level include Past-Secretary and current Treasurer.  This will be Susan's first experience participating at the District Level.  "I enjoy helping my club by being a good steward of our finances and plan to do whatever I can for our District".
 
Professionally, Susan was a Nursing Home Administrator and in 1996 became the owner/manager of a party rental business.  Susan is now retired.

District Bylaws section 608, provides that a Club wishing to challenge the nomination of a District Governor Nominee Designate must file its challenge with the District Governor no later than fourteen days from the date of this notification (so, before midnight December 3, 2020).
