From Your District Governor –
December Reflections & What’s Ahead
By DG Emma Bodwell, Bridgton-Lake Region RC
Can you believe it’s already December?
Sometimes it feels like I just blinked and suddenly we’re halfway through the Rotary year. These months have flown by — but what an amazing stretch it’s been. Every time I visit a club, receive an email about what your club is up to, hear about a new member or a successful project or a spark of collaboration, it brightens my day!! We have a very special district.
As we step into this busy, festive month — I just want to say thank you. Thank you for your energy, your kindness, your creativity, and your heart for service.

I hope you’ll join me on Sunday December 7th for our District Holiday Social & Hands-On Project. This isn’t a fancy event. It’s just a space to come together, connect across clubs, introduce friends and family to Rotary and do something simple but meaningful.
We’ll be signing holiday cards and assembling warming bags for neighbors in need across our district. If you’re coming, I’d love it if you could bring along:
- Socks
- Gloves
- Hand warmers
- Travel-size hygiene items (toothpaste, soap, etc.).
(More information on our district calendar!)
There’s no cost. Just show up. And bring a friend — someone curious about Rotary, someone who might want to learn more. Let’s have a cup of cocoa, light refreshments, sign some cards, and have a conversation about what Rotary is all about.
I want us to keep inviting people into this thing we love.
🔁 Looking Back, Looking Ahead
As 2025 winds down, take a moment with your club. Talk about what made you proud this year. What surprised you? What brought you joy?
Then look ahead. Because 2026 is going to be amazing. Our energy, our connection and all the incredible things we continue to do — together.

Thanks for letting me walk alongside you as District Governor. It truly is one of the greatest honors of my life.
Here’s to a December full of warmth, community, and celebration — and to a new year filled with possibility.
