Do you know an educator - or someone who is interested in literacy and education - who would make a great Rotarian? The Education and Children’s Issues Rotary Club might be just the right opportunity for them to get involved. We promise an opportunity to network, meet other great people involved in meaningful projects, and make a positive difference for children in your own community or far away corners of the world.
Education and Children’s Issues Rotary is forming as a new club - currently partnering with Portland Rotary to become a Satellite Club.
Our members include individuals from US, Canada, and Guatemala. One of the strengths of the group is our programs - our speakers have been from all over the world, sharing about a wide variety of approaches to education and organizations that are doing incredible, innovative work to support learning and literacy.
Our group meets the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month at 8:00 PM (Eastern). Rotarians, educators and anyone with an interest in quality education and programs that support children are welcome. This could be a great opportunity for educators, Interact Advisors, or colleagues working with NGOs supporting education projects or children’s issues. We’re gaining critical mass, but want to identify additional members to get involved with the group.
