The 2026 Dominican Republic humanitarian trip to the Good Samaritan Hospital will be led by the Rotary Club of Portland audiologist Dr. Roger Fagan, AuD. The team of volunteers including Dr. Liz Fagan, a speech pathologist, will travel to La Romana, Dominican Republic, from January 10–17.
The team is hopeful that the clean water grant, submitted by Portland Rotarian David Small, will be approved in time to bring the needed resources on the trip to serve the poorest of the poor in that country.
They will also visit Centro DeProtesis to support the prosthetic work that was started and continues to be supported by Portland Rotary and led by Jim Vicenzi.
Dr. Roger Fagan is also collecting previously used hearing aids to be refurbished for distribution to clients of the DR hearing project. He wishes to thank those individuals and clubs who have participated in the collection of those hearing aids. Their continuing efforts are insuring the sustainability of the hearing program.
For more information about this project and ways you can participate and help, contact Dr. Fagan at drrogerfagan@gmail.com or call him at 207-885-1545.
