Exciting Opportunities for You, Your Club, and/or Family to be involved in
Rotary Youth Exchange
Rotary has two great programs for high school students to experience living in another culture by immersing themselves in a new community.
The Long Term program is a 10-11 month program involving family, school, community, and a local Rotary Club. Teens aged 15-18 are matched with a district, club, and family in another country. They are enrolled in schools and are integrated into their host families, and communities. In return, the sponsoring club agrees to host an incoming student from another country for the same amount of time.
The Short Term program is a 6-8 week program in the summer involving a student, his/her/their family and a local Rotary Club. It is a true exchange in which the US and visiting students spend 3-4 weeks in each other's family and community. The families decide which student travels first and the dates of the exchange.
Rotary Youth Exchange is open to both Rotary and non-Rotary students/families. Clubs sponsoring students have different involvement and expenses depending on the program. Clubs may host incoming students without sending local students on exchange and may sponsor more than one outgoing student.
