It is with sadness and regret that I inform you of the passing of Past District Governor J Marcel Girardeau.  Marcel served as District Governor from 1987 to 1988, back when we were District 779.  Marcel lived in Quebec, and in 2019, at the age of 100, was still driving himself to morning Rotary meetings!

                                      At the CIUSSS MCQ of Shawinigan-Sud, on January 2, 2020, passed away at the age of 100 years, Mr. Marcel Girardeau, husband in
                                      second marriage to the late Aline Perron, son of the late Alfred Girardeau and the late Annie Cloutier, residing in Shawinigan.  
                                      He is survived by His children: Gabriel (Lise Gauvin), Claude (Marie Provost) and Terrie Girardeau; his grandchildren: Nathalie
                                      (Claude L'Heureux), Janick (Berthier Jacques), Patrick (Lisa McCallum) and Marie-Claude (Rémi Bélisle); as well as many great
                                      grandchildren and great great grandchildren; He also leaves behind several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, cousins,
                                      many friends and all members of Rotary International and the Royal Canadian Legion, Subsidiary 44 Lieutenant-colonel Robert Grondin
                                      CD of Shawinigan.

                                      The family wishes to thank in particular Mr. Robert Trépanier of the Royal Canadian Legion as well as his wife Ginette for their great
                                      involvement and dedication to Mr. Girardeau.
