Ron was born and educated in Biddeford, Maine schools as well as Tilton School, Tilton, NH, the University of New England in Biddeford, Maine and The Ford Marketing Institute in New York.  For 19 years, he lived and worked in Montreal, mostly as a marketing and sales executive for Ford Motor Co.  of Canada, specializing in motivational training.  His work required extensive world travel.  Returning to Maine in 1976, Ron soon joined the Biddeford-Saco Rotary Club, serving as its President in 1983-84. He is now a Marketing Consultant t specializing in multi-media advertising.  Ron has never married and devotes his “leisure” time to service on Boards of civic, cultural and church organizations.

District 779 has 49 clubs in Maine, New Hampshire and Massachusetts plus 20 clubs in the province of Quebec and the Northwest Territories, Canada.  The clubs stretch from Newburyport, Massachusetts to Iqaluit, Frobisher Bay, Northwest Territories, Canada.  District 779 is Rotary International’s largest geographic district in the world.  Nineteen clubs lie in French-speaking Quebec but this is not a problem for bilingual Drouin who as District Governor is required to visit each club at least once during his year as District Governor.
