John LoBosco joined the Rotary Club of South Portland-Cape Elizabeth, Maine, in 2005 and served as its President in 2010-11. John served on the club’s board for six years and as an Assistant Governor in the Portland area from 2013-2016. 
 
John enjoys working with clubs on long-term planning and is a district visioning facilitator. His favorite Rotary event every year is the Rotary Christmas tree and wreath sale at Mill Creek Park in South Portland. John chaired the sale in 2009.
 
John is an attorney at Unum Life Insurance Company of America in Portland. He is a graduate of Cornell University and Georgetown University Law Center. John was born in Manhattan, attended P.S. 108 and St. Francis Xavier in the Bronx, and graduated from Horace Greeley High School in Chappaqua, New York.
 
John resides in Cape Elizabeth with his wife, Sue (an adoption social worker).  They have two adult children, Sam (Greenville, SC) and Emily (Portland, ME). 
 
John and his family moved to Maine in 1996 when John took the job with Unum. Prior to that time, John was an attorney and partner in a New York City law firm, Lane & Mittendorf, LLP.  Before moving to Maine, John and his family resided in Ossining, New York for ten years.
 
John and Sue celebrated 30 years of marriage in 2016.  They met when they walked down the aisle together at the wedding of mutual friends in 1981 in Syracuse, NY, and they walked down the aisle again at their own wedding in Syracuse in 1986.  They enjoy entertaining friends and family in Maine and spending time with them in New York and South Carolina.  John and Sue typically spend vacation time in Orleans, MA, and Point Lookout, Long Island, and they’ve traveled together to Italy, England, Israel, Egypt, Russia, Bali, Vietnam and Cambodia.
