Qualifications for a Club to be Eligible for a Rotary Foundation Grant

The Rotary Foundation grant program encapsulates the essence of what it is to be a Rotarian. We have the opportunity to do projects using grant monies donated to “do good in the world.” Rotary is unique in that these projects start and are managed at the club level. It is therefore paramount that each club have in place the processes to ensure that Foundation dollars are managed diligently and spent wisely. Accordingly, to be eligible for any Rotary Foundation grant award, a District 7780 club must annually:

  1. Send a minimum of two members to a District Grants Management Seminar annually. In 2016, a set of three modules are available on the Learning Center.  Go to; log onto "My Rotary," Learning and Reverence," then "Learning Center."  Look at the three modules that make up the District 7780 Grants Managment Seminar.  You can take the three modules online at your convenience.  The seminar was also available "live" at the District Training Assembly on April 2.  (Four are scheduled this year; the members may attend the seminar of their choice.) It is strongly encouraged that the President-elect and Foundation Chair  take the seminars, although everyone in the club is welcomed to do so.

  2. Sign and implement the Rotary’s Club Memo of Understanding .

  3. Establish a current goal for support of the Annual Fund and post it on Rotary Club Central .

  4. Appoint a Club Foundation Chair and notify the District Governor of such.

  5. Be current with all International and District dues and be in good standing with the District and Rotary International.

  6. Be current on all District and Foundation grants (reports, financial, and close out).

For your club to qualify for a 2016-17 grant, the above criteria must be fulfilled by June 1, 2016, and a copy of the last page (signature page) of your club’s completed MOU  must be received by our District’s Club Qualification Steward: Steve Rand,, 207-653-6092.
