India Outreach Team To Present
Global Grants
By Laura Young, Team Leader, Portland RC

The District 7780 Outreach Team to Bengaluru, India extends our sincere gratitude to the District for the extraordinary opportunity to fall in love with India. We were warmly welcomed and generously hosted by the Rotarians of District 3191, who organized inspiring and comprehensive tours of their impactful service projects and vibrant city and villages.

This experience has deepened our appreciation for Rotary’s global reach and impact. As a result of the trip, we and our clubs are sponsoring three global grants in India, totaling $150,000.

One of the many projects we visited was a Rotary meeting where pregnant milk-yielding cows were being distributed by the club to 9 women in need living in rural villages. This Women’s Empowerment project provides an immediate and sustainable source of income. Expansion of this project to 60 more women is one of the global grants being sponsored by District 7780. We look forward to sharing more details at the April 11 District Opportunity Workshop.
