We Need You! Seeking Applications for DG and District Finance Committee
Dear Fellow D7780 Rotarians,
Serving as District Governor is an opportunity for committed Rotarians to bring the same leadership and service to our Rotary District that they bring to their clubs. Now is the time for your club to nominate an outstanding past president to serve as District Governor for 2028-2029.
In addition to service to Rotary, serving as Governor is an opportunity for a Rotarian to grow personally and to gain many new experiences, before, during and after their Governor year. To serve as Governor, a candidate must be ready for the experience of a lifetime and be willing to experience Rotary in a way club Rotarians seldom do!
Interested Rotarians desiring more information are invited to contact District Nominating Committee Chair PDG Peggy Belanger, pegb51@yahoo.com or at 207-432-7497 (m) and/or to chat with any Past District Governor or members of the current Governor's Track.
To nominate one of its members, a club must pass a Resolution adopted at a regular meeting. The Resolution must be signed and dated by the club president and the club secretary, then submitted to District Governor Emma Bodwell at ebodwell@icloud.com with a copy to Peggy Belanger at pegb51@yahoo.com, on or prior to midnight November 30th, 2025. Each club may submit one nomination.
At the time of selection, the Nominee must:
- Be a member in good standing of a functioning club in the District
- Have served as president of a club for a full term or served a minimum of six months of a charter club
- Demonstrate willingness, commitment, and ability, physically and otherwise, to fulfill the duties and responsibilities of the office of Governor as provided in RI Bylaws
- Demonstrate knowledge of the qualifications, duties, and responsibilities of Governor as described in the RI Bylaws,16.010.
Other information – a candidate's Rotary biography, background and a personal statement must be submitted along with the club's Resolution.
Forms and more information are available from PDG Peggy Belanger at pegb51@yahoo.com or at 207-423-7497.
Kindly note that campaigning for this position is not allowed, per RI By-Laws, Manual of Procedure 2022, Article 13.010.
Speaking from personal experience, I can say without hesitation that my years on the DG Track, as DG, and PDG have been some of the most gratifying, exciting, and enlightening moments of my life.
Truly, a remarkable experience awaits you as a future District Governor!
Peggy Belanger, Pres., RC of Kennebunkport
