Shelter Box is a project that several in the district have supported over many years. I just want to tell you about this unique fundraiser. Feel free to check it out and donate if you want, but this is not a push to do so. Shelter Box is a Rotary affiliated group, adopted in April 2000 by the Rotary Club of Helston-Lizard in Cornwall, England. Shelter box provides emergency shelter and tools in times of dramatic need such as hurricanes, earthquakes, floods and tornados.
Chase Harr is following the lead of Brittney Woodrum, a ShelterBox ambassador who summited all 58 of Colorado’s 14,000’ers, doing her climbs with a ShelterBox on her back!
Chase was inspired to carry on Brittney’s mission and will scale all 67 New England 4’000 footers, with a ShelterBox on his back. “Second Summits” is a campaign to raise funds and awareness for ShelterBox. This will bring Chase to our district for a few weeks in August and September.
