Youth Service or New Generations Service acknowledges the positive influence of youth and young adults who are involved in leadership development activities, community and international service, and exchange programs that enrich and foster world peace and cultural understanding. There are many programs and projects currently supported by clubs in our district that fall under the New Generations umbrella. Examples include many of our literacy projects like the dictionary project and the Four Way Test speaking contest, mentoring, Career Day at your middle and high schools, and the variety of scholarships offered to students.

New Generations also includes the Rotary-sponsored programs of RYLA, an interactive development program designed to enhance leadership skills in the next generation of innovative leaders and offered to students after their sophomore year of high school; Interact, our high school-based service organization; and Youth Exchange, in which we send and receive high school-aged students to spend up to 10 months in another country. Rotary also sponsors Rotaract, a service organization for young adults in either a college or community setting.

Rotary protects its youth and other vulnerable persons via a protection policy. All Rotarians who work with these groups agree to adhere to this policy.
